Bukit Tanjung Keramat Fort (Kota Bukit Tanjung Keramat)

Fort Bukit Tanjung Keramat was built by Sultan Muhammad in the year 1830. A major portion of the fort was built from earth and it was a very strong defence fort. The fort which is square in shape have two entrances. The main entrance is seven meters wide and faced the north direction. The lane from the entrance curved toward the east side leading to a staircase to go down to Pangkalan Bagan Pasir. Another entrance faced the east side and it is considered an emergency entrance for the army in the fort to get out to bring news to Kota Melawati. When the Dutch captured Kuala Selangor, this fort was called Fort Utrecht which was named after their ship.
